Mental Health and Gaming – Whats the problem?

KIP Education’s unique sessions create awareness around social gaming, gambling and addiction, in a school environment or youth setting among young people.

Gaming and Social Gaming are enjoyed by lots of young people of all ages. It provides them with a range of online activities, most of which are safe and responsible. However, there is growing evidence that some young people are now finding gaming more problematic in terms of the time and money which it takes, as well as the impact which it can have on mental health and well-being.

This interactive half-day session designed by KIP Education is aimed at young people from KS2 to post-16 and looks at some of the main issues being raised such as:

What do we mean by social gaming?
What’s the problem?
Types of products on the market
Disappearing time and money
Mental Health – Signs of addiction
Mental Health – Results of gaming addiction
What happens next?

This interesting and innovative training includes films, discussions, data and guidance from our trainers and can be used in conjunction with other e-safety information programmes.

KIP Education incorporates a therapeutic process in which all parties can work with the struggle adolescents face as they go through school both within their peer group as well as in their home environment. Through and within this process we focus on building a bond with young people so as to establish a level of trust that will allow the learner to process and understand their feelings, establishing a sense of normalcy around those difficult emotions.

KIP Education tailor our sessions to the needs of our clients and can create new presentations and workshops accordingly. The sessions are usually between 1 hour and 2 hours long and again this depends on the need of the client.

Social Gaming and Gambling Addiction can be a tricky subject to teach as students can find it awkward to discuss drug knowledge and experiences. To book a workshop on drugs and alcohol education, or if you have a specific workshop in mind please call us today; we have many unique programs available for you! contact us on 07956 300453 for more information.

KIP Education also offers other workshops; to find out more about KIP Education and our other workshops please visit our Workshops Page.
